The 2016 opening of Mr. Pepper's Pumpkin Patch will be delayed until late September. Farming involves many factors that influence the crop outcome. Some factors are within the farmer’s control, and some are not. Unfortunately, the pumpkin crop at our farm was a failure this year for the first time in 27 years.
We will still have pumpkins for sale! However, we have been forced to purchase 100% of the pumpkins that we will offer for sale this year from an outside source. Therefore, the format for selecting pumpkins will be different from other years. The pumpkins will be presented to the public in the bins in which they were shipped to us. The gourd crop at our farm was productive and we will still have gourds, mums, other fall produce, the corn maze, hayride, and snack shack available as normal.
We understand that you come to Mr. Pepper’s Pumpkin Patch to have a memorable experience. Obviously, this year’s modified approach is not the setting which we desire to offer you, but the only other option Mr. Pepper had this year was to remain closed this season. We plan to be here in 2017 and beyond as we have been for the past 27 years: with a patch full of pumpkins for you to pick off-the-vine.
